Our tips on how to get healthy glowing skin this winter!

Winter is no longer coming… It is well and truly upon us! We don’t know about you guys, but the Winter Blues are a very real thing for us at Butt Naked. So to pull us out of our Winter funk, we will share with you 5 handy tips on how to take care of dry skin in winter. Our simple guide will help all you skinfood junkies know how to keep healthy glowing skin during the cold days and nights.

1. HELP YOUR DRY LIPS

How much do you love chapped lips that won’t heal? Yeah, we don’t dig them either! Let us tell you how to keep lips moist and soft. Lip scrubs rule as a dry lips treatment; it helps by buffing away at flaky, peeling skin, so your lips become soft and kissable again. Follow up your lip scrubbing with a lip balm, the perfect companion to maintain hydration throughout the cold days and nights. We recommend scrubbing every other day and balmin’, as often as you want/need.

Can you eat lip scrubs we hear you ask? Hell to the yes.

2. KEEP YOUR FACE GLOWING

With the cold wind and dry frosty air, our faces take some hard knocks during the winter months. Our pick for the best face mask for dry skin is a pink clay mask. Pink Clay is incredible for dry and sensitive skin types, and rich in minerals including silica, which helps to restore and replenish moisture to the skin, as well as draw out impurities while lightly exfoliating.

To take advantage of pink clays benefits, we recommend face masking once a week to replenish your skin during this cold snap! Chuck your mask on, pour a vino and grab a blanky on the couch while your skin gets some much-needed lovin’!

3. REJUVENATE YOUR SKIN

Our skin tends to get a little scaly in this icy weather, so scrubbing with coffee is essential through the chillier months. Why is a coffee scrub good for your skin? Coffee scrubs benefit your skin as it works to clear blemishes, fade stretch marks and signs of cellulite. Our suggestion is 2-3 times a week, scrub a dub-dub in the shower, to exfoliate all that dry and dead skin and wash it away down the drain with your winter blues.

4. HYDRATE

We all know the importance of hydrating on the inside all year round, but particularly in the winter months, it is crucial to keep the water intake flowing, as this drastically helps with eliminating dry skin. Another way to keep your skin hydrated is with natural body oil. Body oil benefits are endless...It’s super hydrating and moisturising, leaving no oily residue; it is deeply softening and also helps with elasticity and evening out skin tone. Bonus!

5. EAT HEALTHY FOR HEALTHIER SKIN

An essential part of keeping dry skin at bay this winter is following a healthy skin diet. A few amazing super-foods to incorporate into your winter diet are WALNUTS- Walnuts are a good source of essential fats, zinc, vitamin E, vitamin C, selenium and protein — all of which are nutrients your skin needs to stay healthy. AVOCADOS- Avocados are high in beneficial fats and contain vitamins E and C, which are essential for healthy skin. But best of all RED RED WINE- (Stay close to meeee!) Resveratrol, the famous antioxidant found in red wine, may slow your skin’s aging process by impairing harmful free radicals that damage your skin.

So cosy up nudists and make time for some self-care this winter - Your skin will love ya butt!
